From May 1–3, 2026, Chhaharee Farm had the privilege of hosting the Vikalp Sangam Nepal Gathering, bringing together people, practitioners, activists, and organisations working toward alternative and sustainable pathways for society, livelihoods, food systems, ecology, and development.

Vikalp Sangam, meaning “Alternatives Confluence,” is a process that brings together diverse voices and grassroots initiatives to explore ways of meeting human needs and aspirations without harming the Earth or leaving people behind. It creates a space for sharing experiences, learning from one another, strengthening collaboration, and collectively imagining a more just, equitable, democratic, and ecologically conscious future.

Over the course of two and a half days, participants engaged in meaningful discussions, shared their experiences and perspectives, reflected on existing development practices, and explored alternative approaches to social, economic, ecological, and community transformation. Surrounded by the natural beauty and peaceful environment of Chhaharee Farm, the gathering provided an inspiring space for dialogue, connection, collective learning, and reflection.

The gathering highlighted the importance of bringing together diverse ideas and experiences to build pathways that are grounded in justice, equality, ecological sustainability, community participation, and care for both people and nature. Chhaharee Farm was honoured to provide a learning and reflection space for this meaningful confluence of alternative thinkers and change-makers.

We sincerely thank all the participants for their valuable contributions, thoughtful discussions, and shared commitment to creating sustainable and equitable alternatives for Nepal.
