Farmers and local representatives from Siraha District visited Chhaharee Farm on June 12, 2026, as part of a learning and exposure visit facilitated by the National Farmers Group Federation. The visit provided participants with an opportunity to observe and learn about Chhaharee Farm’s integrated and agroecological farming system.
During the visit, participants explored different components of the farm, including azolla cultivation, local manure preparation and management practices, integrated farming approaches, and youth engagement in agriculture. Discussions focused on the effective use of locally available resources, sustainable soil fertility management, and the integration of different farming enterprises to develop productive and resilient agricultural systems.
The visitors showed particular interest in Chhaharee Farm’s efforts to connect crop production, livestock, natural resource management, and youth participation within an interconnected farming system. The interaction also created a valuable platform for exchanging experiences, sharing locally adapted practices, and discussing opportunities to strengthen sustainable agriculture in their respective communities.
The visit highlighted the importance of farmer-to-farmer learning, local innovation, and collaboration among farmers, local representatives, and agricultural organizations in promoting sustainable and resilient farming systems.
