Chhaharee Farm welcomed a group of 30 farmers from Pokhara for a learning and exposure visit on April 21, 2026. The visit was facilitated by LI-BIRD and aimed to provide farmers with practical exposure to innovative, sustainable, and agroecological farming practices being implemented at Chhaharee Farm.
During the visit, participants explored the farm’s multilayer fruit farming system, which integrates different fruit species and crops at multiple levels to promote efficient land use, biodiversity, and long-term productivity. The farmers also showed keen interest in the Aakash Chaurasiya vegetable farming model, discussing its practical application, production methods, and potential for adoption in their own farming systems.
The learning visit also included discussions and field observations on rice–azolla integrated farming, ecological weed management, and organic manure preparation. Participants exchanged experiences and explored how locally available resources and nature-based farming practices can contribute to improving soil health, reducing dependence on external inputs, and strengthening sustainable agricultural production.
The visit created an interactive platform for farmer-to-farmer learning, knowledge exchange, and practical discussion. Participants actively shared their experiences, raised questions, and reflected on opportunities to adapt the demonstrated practices to their local contexts.
Chhaharee Farm continues to serve as a practical learning space for farmers, students, researchers, and agricultural practitioners interested in agroecology, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable farming. Through field-based learning and knowledge sharing, the farm aims to support the wider adoption of resilient, productive, and environmentally responsible agricultural systems.
